Red is such a striking color, one that is hard to ignore. According to color psychologists, seeing red increases heart rate and breathing. In this shot I was trying to once again capture the neat fluid splash, only this time I wanted some color tossed in for additional visual flavor. I dropped one drop of standard (sorry, I don’t have the box handy) red food coloring into 1/4″ – 1/3″ of water. It is quite neat to see the way the food coloring spreads and moves with the water, as well as the way it gets caught up when the water comes back together. It certainly makes for a very interesting secondary splash. This is one of two or three videos cropped from one sequence. I’ll have another posted later today or tomorrow.
